May 1, 2023 — As a designer, Wichita State's website was what caught Oluwasayo Benjamin Adekalu's eye and brought him to Wichita from Nigeria. As a student, he's learned how to hone his creative skills into building marketable products through the College of Innovation and Design.

April 27, 2023 — A student-led research team is attempting to replicate owl feathers in its quest to create silent drone propellers. Now NASA has invested in the project with a potential award of up to $82,000.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. He served as Student Body President and came to appreciate the caring atmosphere at Wichita State. John is one of more than 1,500 students eligible for spring 2023 graduation. April 20, 2023 — The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has chosen two recipients to receive the 2023 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship. This year’s winners are Kayla Atkinson from Andover Central High School and Caleb Lowry from Eisenhower High School in Goddard.

April 3, 2023 — A user experience (UX) Austin research firm has discovered a secret ingredient in its recipe for success: Wichita State University students. In the past decade, several students have found their way to Human Interfaces, an Austin UX firm, for both applied learning experiences and full-time careers.

March 3, 2023 — Wichita State University has selected the 2023 recipient of the Linwood Sexton Scholarship: Grecia Esparza from Wichita East High School. Esparza will receive a full-ride scholarship to attend Wichita this fall.

Nov. 30, 2022 — Valerie Hubener worked in several labs across campus until she found a field of interest that was perfect for her in user-experience (UX) design.

Oct. 28, 2022 —Dr. Jennifer Friend has been named dean of Wichita State University’s College of Applied Studies (CAS), effective Jan. 9, 2023.

Oct. 18, 2022 — Wichita State University student organizations, the Community Service Board, and fraternity and sororities completed 13,857 service hours in fiscal year 2022. July 27, 2022 — Nick Elam, educator and inventor of what is known as the Elam Ending in basketball, will speak to College of Applied Studies students at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23 in 231 Hubbard Hall. Other WSU students and the general public are also invited to attend free of charge.

July 7, 2022 - Kyla Gordon came to Wichita State from Denver to major in entrepreneurship and take advantage of WSU’s many student activities.
